Dear Seekers and IX Keepers,

The month of May inspires us to reflect on the Divine Feminine, regardless of our gender identity. It’s the month of May Day and Mother’s Day. Looking at the word May in reverse, we are pointed inward with the words “I (Y) AM.”

Feminine energy is very giving, intuitive, and embracing. It is the energy of love, compassion, and caring. Feminine energy is the great balancer to the male forces of logic and reason. When partnered, the yin and yang create harmony, which is where true power lies.

This month, we chose Queen to be our IX Crystal guide. She is a stunning rose quartz, the type of Crystal associated with love. Queen has the mature energy of a mother who reminds us that self-love and compassion are the qualities most needed when giving to others. If there is no self-love, there is nothing to give, and if there is no compassion, there is no desire to give. One cannot fulfill its purpose without the other.

It is our deepest hope that this month’s Compass nourishes your consciousness with inspiration and content designed for your journey of growth to align your body, mind, and spirit. We are here, with you and for you.

With Love and Light,

Instituto Xilonen

IX CRYSTAL - QUEEN

About the Name
Queen is a title given to the matriarch of a royal lineage. It also refers to one who has fully embodied her Divine Feminine, with humility, compassion, and great love.

About this Crystal
Queen is a very special rose quartz sphere with chlorite druzy.

In The Book of Stones, Crystal expert Robert Simmons writes, “Rose Quartz is the quintessential stone of love – love for oneself, one’s life partner, children, family, friends, community, the Earth, the Universe and the Divine.” As a stone of love, rose quartz is an ally for all matters relating to the physical, emotional, and spiritual heart. It’s one of the five Crystals that we use most often at IX because of its gentle but powerful support in settling stress, healing old wounds, and expanding the heart into greater degrees of consciousness and joy.

Chlorite druzy is the “sugar” inside the Crystal, formed when water evaporated from the stone leaving its minerals behind. Druzy is associated with flow states of peace, tranquility, patience, intuition, and unconditional love, all of which amplify the body’s natural healing properties and provide balance. Chlorite is a natural energy cleanser.

Message from Queen

Let me give you space and time and peacefulness while you contemplate your true desire. What is your next move? What is your dilemma? Where might you find your solutions? Answers are always abundantly plentiful if one takes the time to truly sit and feel and allow these answers to find their way to you.

“I invite you into my being as you ponder how this most glorious Universe can help and serve you on your path to higher living. We are all here to help with the passion of living a higher vibration life. I am here to provide a serene and safe spot to be while you are in a state of allowing. Jump into my center and feel the love that is available to you. Know that answers conceived in love will find their way to manifestation at a faster pace than any other way. I am here to help you soften so you can push forward. I am here to provide you a beautiful womb of love.”

Affirmations from Queen
A womb of Universal love is always available to me.
Answers come when I allow my body to settle, my mind to soften, and my heart to speak.
My deepest truth comes wrapped in the clarity of love.

NOURISH THE MIND

More so than any crisis of the 21st century, the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the world’s sense of structure and reliability. But at the same time, it has also offered new opportunities for collective giving and community generosity.

Recent studies show that generosity — shown through philanthropy, volunteerism, or simple kindness to others — can be directly tied to longevity and good health. And when you add the collaborative element inherent in the giving circle model, you create a form of generosity that is as good for your physical and mental health as it is for your community.

Generosity is good for you.

Simply put, generosity is as beneficial to your health as exercise and a balanced diet. The University of Michigan published a 2003 study linking the practice of generosity to extended lifespan and improved mental and physical health.

We give because we care.

At its heart, generosity is about caring for others. This means that giving offers us an opportunity to get out of our own heads, stop focusing on ourselves as the troubled heroes of our own soap operas, and make someone else’s day. When we give, we are able to ignore the criticism, self-doubt, and uncertainty that shape so many of our day-to-day decisions. Instead, we feel that we are a true part of the community and connected to others.

The benefits of generosity are immeasurable — and they have no upward limit.

There are only 24 hours in the day, so there are only so many trips we can take to the gym or healthy meals we can prep. But on the other hand, generosity comes with no measure. We can give and give, whether with our time, our dollars, or our empathy. It doesn’t matter if we don’t have much money to give to a cause — what matters is that we see the direct impact of our own generosity, and we reap the rewards of helping others. And this is where giving circles come in handy…

Giving circles expand the impact of philanthropic dollars far beyond an individual’s contribution.

Traditional giving circle models offer membership for a set annual fee, but there is a rising prevalence of income-based circles that offer a “pay what you can” model. One example is Radfund in New York City, where giving circle members give 1% of their income. There are also more and more circles appearing where more affluent members of the circle “sponsor” another member, to make it possible for everyone to participate and have a voice in the giving process without committing more than they can reasonably contribute. This way, we can all feel the benefits of generosity without the guilt of “not giving enough.” There’s no such thing as giving “enough” when we all give together.

Giving circles are outlets for generosity AND human connection.

More than the simple financial aspects of taking part in a giving circle, circle membership offers unique opportunities to connect and collaborate with your community. By nature, giving circles come with a healthy dose of human connection: when we join a circle, we take part in the voting process, we meet with potential grantees, and we see the direct impacts of our grants on organizations in our communities. The trust-based methodology of this form of giving creates real and lasting relationships between circles and their grantee partners. And this communication cycle creates new opportunities for social change in the future.

By taking part in a giving circle, you are being generous to yourself and to others.

The biggest takeaway of the relationship between generosity and health is that joining a giving circle is the best way to be generous to yourself AND to your community. A single donation offers the feel-good power of bringing generosity into your day, but working within a group of like-minded individuals gives you all the goodness of generosity paired with the lasting impact, true friendships, trust, and quality relationships that we can only find within a collaborative philanthropy structure.

At Philanthropy Together, we believe in the power of generosity — and the power of giving circles. The more we give, the more we communicate, and the more we work together, the more we can do to create a gender equal future. Join the movement! ASTROLOGICAL INSIGHTS

By Demitra Vassiliadis

May saunters in at a slow, languid pace that invites us to stop and smell the roses, lilacs, and other gorgeous blooms, opening into their full spring splendor. The month begins, with the radiant Sun, Mercury, lovely Venus, and evolutionary Uranus, all in Taurus, the constructive sign of earthy primordial beauty, and the sign most closely associated with Mother Earth. Meanwhile Mars, the planet of action, is traveling through Cancer, the sign of the oceanic mother, while Saturn and Jupiter travel through Aquarius, a sign that corresponds with the Milky Way, and the expressed milk of nurturing starlight above. Given this gorgeous maternal planetary line-up, we at Instituto Xilonen have chosen to focus on May as a time to honor and give back to the Universal Mother whose body is the ensouled Universe.

Taurus always invites us to connect with our senses, and to delight in the natural world as the bountiful provider of all that sustains us on our earth walk. We celebrate Mother’s Day and Earth Day in Taurus, giving gracious thanks to the vast beautiful being whose body supports our every step. Taurus, a Venusian sign of fixed earth, rules rocks, and like a rock, is the most grounded, patient sign of the zodiac. It’s a beautiful month to cultivate that steadfast patience, as we tend the gardens of our lives, nurturing the beauty and bounty we feel called to bring forth. Taurus invites us to connect with the earth, rocks, minerals and Crystals to aid our grounded evolution.

By May 8th, Mercury and Venus will have glided into winged Gemini, the sign of swift thought, where Mercury will retrograde on May 29th, calling us into weeks of reflection and mental review. We can prepare now by upping our grounded meditation practice.

The New Moon in Taurus on May 11th, inspires an evolutionary breakthrough in our relationship to the material world. We can cultivate that leap by cultivating greater reverence for the material world, blessing Mother Earth, our bodies, and the starry vault of Heaven, as the living, sacred temple of Divine Spirit. On May 13th, massive Jupiter leaves Aquarius till late July, and glides into visionary Pisces, inspiring us to expand our dreams by deepening our conscious connection to Source. As Jupiter expands our sacred visions, the Taurus Sun inspires us to take steady practical steps to manifest them, thus uniting Heaven and Earth.

By the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on the 26th, the Sun will have flown into brilliant Gemini, as the Moon is eclipsed in wise Sagittarius, just as Mercury prepares to retrograde on the 29th. This potent Full Moon provides new revelations that could be game-changers. The eclipse calls us inward to reflect on and perhaps revise beliefs and ideas, as the Sagittarius Full Moon reminds us that gratitude to Source and to the Universal Mother for all they provide is the foundation of all true enlightening wisdom.

Blessings of Beauty and Bounty to All,

Demitra Vassiliadis
