NOURISH THE SPIRIT

The Summer solstice is upon us. With it comes an energy of abundance, excitement, and possibility. Thinking about what the longest day brings, what comes to mind first? Often the initial thought is something physical. Perhaps it’s more time outdoors or more hours spent with loved ones. Maybe it’s appreciating the bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden.

Our spirit however, also sings with the excitement of the season. Whatever you want to call it, be it your spirit, intuition, soul, or highest self, it’s a part of you that lives deep within and desires only the purest, truest expression of you. It is immaculate, wholesome self-love, untarnished by our mind or the outside world. This part of us doesn’t crave a pinch of this energy, it wants us to bask in its bountiful radiance and feel the full power of possibility that lives within it.

Think of a time when you tapped into this impressive energy. Describe it. Where were you, how old were you, what were you doing, what did it feel like physically, and what word or image describes the emotions you felt? Most likely what came to mind is a time when you were being bold for the sake of your innermost desires. Perhaps you described a feeling of exhilaration, or immense joy. Maybe there was even fear or a sense of courage. Strip that away and what you’re left with is self-love. You were actualizing something your highest self was calling you to do.

Your intuitive self already loves you unconditionally. If you were to harness this energy, would you be more open to trying new things? Would you be able to fail without judging yourself harshly? Would you be more accepting of what comes into your life and more grateful for the experiences you have? Tune in to your intuition now, what is your spirit yearning for? Is it more freedom, contribution, peace, something else? Set an intention to call this in and trust the energy of the solstice to accelerate it for you.

ASTROLOGICAL INSIGHTS

The month began on a waning lunar cycle, with Mercury traveling retrograde in Gemini, the sign of thought and communication. This retrograde, which began in late May, sets the tone for the month, calling our minds both backward and inward to review plans, ideas, and whole patterns of thought. As the retrograde calls our minds backward, we are automatically reviewing and rethinking all that we intend to advance, anticipating our plans for a joyous future. Here at IX, therefore, we have chosen to focus this month on looking forward with joyful anticipation and exhilaration, even as Mercury retrogrades.

The New Moon/total Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 10th will begin a lunar cycle that will carry us into the summer, initiating entirely new ideas, and patterns of thought, feeling, and communication as new information comes to light.

Although the Moon is advancing, calling us to new beginnings, Mercury, executive Saturn, and transformational Pluto are all traveling retrograde, calling us inward and backward, inspiring a weighty review of ideas, plans, and goals for structural soundness before proceeding.

It’s a perfect time to connect upward with the Higher Mind like never before. By seeking the guidance of Divine Intelligence to inform our thinking, our conscious and subconscious minds are drenched with luminous brilliance, and brought into harmony with the Source of all intelligence that fills us to the brim with Guiding Light.

That Light can guide our first steps into the summer on June 20th, the summer solstice, the first day of summer, as the Sun heads into maternal Cancer, to nurture our relationship to home and family. It’s a gorgeous day to amplify our practice of reaching upward for Divine Light on this day of maximum sunlight for the year.

On June 22nd, Mercury will station direct in Gemini, and we can slowly begin to advance revised plans. Two days later on the 24th, the Full Moon in Capricorn illuminates our executive consciousness and the soulful goals we are clear about, that we can now commit to with healthy discipline, as we sail into summer.
